The Jetty was located just beside the Bus Station (Terminal A & Terminal B).
The CAT (Central Area Transit) lane was located at Terminal B (where most buses were).
The jetty was at the Terminal A 'side' - where we had to walk past a line of stalls selling local tibits...
Then we reached a ticket station where one could buy the train tickets from here...
We continued to walk... it's very spacious - I thought, it must be built to accommodate huge crowds...
As we got nearer to the jetty, we could see vehicles queuing for the ferry. Indeed, this was very similar to many cities where ferry was one of the common transportation.
Passengers at the waiting area. Well, there, originally seemed to have queues, but quickly disappeared as the gate opened. However, one thing I liked was, while it was a 'mass' of people, nobody pushed, which was what made it different from many of the cities in mainland China.
The ferry journey from Pulau Pinang to Butterworth was FREE!
In the ferry....
The ferry journey took approximately 25 minutes.
At Butterworth, as the new train station was under construction (Sentral Penang), free bus service was provided to ferry passengers from the jetty to the bus station (and vice versa). The officers there were helpful :)
A quick tour around the Butterworth Train Station:
Heading back to the jetty to Pulau Pinang...
Passengers "behind the gate", waiting for the ferry...
We needed to buy a ferry ticket from Butterworth to Pulau Pinang.
As our ferry departed, another arrived.
